Day 6 - Financial Provision
Money is a great thing. It allows us to prepare for a life event, helps us feed our families, and gives us another opportunity to glorify God. After all the money is His in the first place.
However, often when Christians pray about their finances, the prayer is for MORE money. Maybe for some people, having more money would solve all their problems, but more often than not, we blame scarcity when the real culprit is conviction & obedience. The Bible is very clear that God wants us to be good stewards of our finances, save bit by bit as we can, and offer your FIRST and your BEST to the Lord. Matthew 6:21 says:
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”
And Proverbs 3:6 says:
“Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.”
Want to know what your first and your best looks like? Take a look at your credit card statement. Review the most recent transactions from your bank account.
The good news: there is HOPE. You don’t have to manage your finances on your own. Jesus warns us about the cruel reality of the world and offers us a helping hand! The enemy wants us to feel the financial pressures of the world and for us to try and bear this burden on our own, but we must reject this trick.
During our time of fasting & prayer – pray that Jesus helps you assemble your budget. Pray that God will bring you conviction on what you are spending your first and best on. Pray that God would bless your finances, not to be glorified on an Instagram post, but for HIS glory. Lastly, pray for obedience to follow the Lord’s lead with every walk of life, especially your finances.
