Day 9 - Families & Marriages

No single person on this earth can get under my skin so completely as a member of my family. It doesn’t really matter which one, to be honest. My big brother is an outright olympian at being annoying. My husband used to stick his finger into my mouth mid-yawn so I couldn’t finish…because he thought it was funny. And my children have the absolute worst timing to desperately need me right when I’m starting a bath or going out the door. 

But family can also be a source of great joy and comfort. Family looks different for each and every one of us. Some of us have had to redefine the word “family” and build our own. Some of us are in great sorrow for the missing pieces. Others may feel great abundance in this area. 

No matter what family looks like for you in a human form, I want to share with you the blessing of the larger family you are a part of. Thousands of years ago, God made several promises to bless His people. They are beautifully encapsulated in this song that I believe we can dwell in today as we focus on receiving this blessing on ourselves, our families, and our marriages.
